HSS HEAT TREATMENT
Heat treatment in high speed steels is done at very high temperatures such as 1150-1350 C.Parts are heated to 850 degrees.Thus, oxidation is prevented and they are brought to the annealing temperature.Then cooling and hardening is done.Cooling can continue in air and oil.
WHERE TO USE HSS

TYPES OF HSS

Speed steels are shaped by the same methods as other steels, and they are sold in the market as annealed and normalized bars. Brinell hardnesses in the annealed condition range from 200 to 250. Carbon and low alloy tool steels range from 170 to 200.

HSS LIFE
